 I have been meaning to write to you to tell you about all the great comments we have been hearing about our most recent Boot Camp with you.  Today, I was finally prompted to sit down and get the pen to the paper because of a comment made at our recent Board of Directors meeting.  

 A board member, the GM of one of our coast side properties, mentioned to our board that her staff, had attended one of your boot camps and found a lot of value in attending, as she went on to say that “they had really gotten a lot out of it.”  And, that’s not all -- At our recent DOS meeting, the January boot camp came up and an Associate Director of one of our properties said he had attended and thought “the speaker was great, that he had pulled out his best!” 

 A DOS, who had also attended the January boot camp along with his GM, went on to say, “The speaker was motivational and opened up new ideas.”  Gary, it doesn’t get any better than that to hear these great comments right from the hotel management teams that know first- hand the value of attending these sales training sessions.

 Of course, we already know what the planner panel had to say about your program – they commented in front of the entire audience that “every CVB should be doing these, and we commend San Mateo County-Silicon Valley CVB for hosting this.” The element of having them there as part of the program for the frank discussion on helping us to be better salespeople made a real impact on both our sales team and the members who attended. Belated thanks for conducting two successful sessions at our August, 2014 Southeast Educational Conference, held at the Bonaventure Resort in Weston, FL! 

 

The survey results are in and both sessions garnered extremely favorable reviews.  We knew it was risky to start an already jam-packed day with a 7:45 am educational session over breakfast, but your “Battle of the Stars: The Meeting Professionals’ Version” brought out the true education-vultures and did not disappoint.  Your afternoon session, “Improving the Process of Buying & Selling: A Learning Lab” was very well-received, especially for a late Friday afternoon session, and it left people wanting to hear more from you in the future!

 

Thank you for the exceptional effort displayed on your part to truly carry out the conference theme, “Own Your Adventure – Meet, Grow, Sustain.” The “no chair” set-up in the beginning really seemed to work.  We appreciate your willingness to work with us on a different room set in the afternoon.
