About Us
The American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS) was established January 26, 1927.
Our history began during an AOA conference in Louisville, KY, when a small group of surgeons opted to share a mission to set high education standards and provide continuing medical education to osteopathic surgeons.
Today, these beliefs continue to be our driving force.

OUR VISION
To be the primary organizational home for all osteopathic surgeons while providing valuable resources, education, and uniting a strong community base that helps our members deliver the highest quality care to their patients.
ACOS provides physicians, residents in training, students, allied health professionals and exhibitors with three educational meetings through the year – the General Surgery In-depth Review Seminar, held each spring, the Urological Discipline Mid-Year Meeting, held in late spring and the Annual Clinical Assembly of Osteopathic Surgeons, held every fall.
These meetings offer valuable educational programming, opportunities to network with osteopathic surgeons from around the country, become reacquainted with old friends, and to explore the host city.
